East Texas piano legend Van Cliburn has been diagnosed with advanced bone cancer.
A spokesperson for the Van Cliburn Foundation said the Kilgore native is gravely ill, but did not comment further. Cliburn is in his late seventies.
Cliburn's publicist simply says he is resting and in good spirits.
